The young investigator prizes, decided by the International Program Committee and honored during the closing ceremony on the Friday, were awarded for the best poster presented during the student poster session and for the two best orals of the conference. Decisive for the nomination was that the graduation to PhD is no longer than 3 years ago. The IPC selects the winners on the basis of the following criteria:

Bianca Giaccone (Fermilab and Illinois Institute of Technology) for her oral presentation (FRCAB7) entitled "Plasma Processing to Reduce Field Emission in LCLS-II 1.3 GHz SRF Cavities"
Ryan D. Porter (Cornell University) for his oral presentation (THFUA5) entitled "Field Limitation in Nb3Sn Cavities"
